Prior To Arrival
Prior to arrival at one of our addiction treatment centers, you or your loved one would have already been in touch with one of our specialists or intake coordinators to discuss any arrangements. If not, please call us 24/7 at 1-877-387-4155. They will assist with ensuring that all the essential paperwork has been completed, details collected, arranging travel if necessary and ensuring that all of your questions have been answered.
Medical Detox
When a participant arrives at iRecover, they are placed under the care of medical professionals who assess, monitor, and manage the person as they progress through their withdrawal. This is the first step in the drug rehabilitation program and does not require a referral from a physician.
The length of stay at iRecover during the detox can vary from participant to participant but typically ranges between 24 hours and one week. Upon arrival, participants will have their bags inspected for safety purposes.
Addiction Treatment
iRecover is nationally recognized as a leader in 12-step abstinence-based drug and alcohol treatment. iRecover is the best place for your loved ones to heal. In addition to medically supervised detox and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, we offer our alumni lifetime aftercare to support the individuals and their families in making a positive and permanent change in their lives.
Participants in Alberta will be able to receive a psychiatric assessment and treatment available from addictions expert Dr. Avi Aulakh, MD, FRCOC, DABAM.
Our addiction rehab program duration is 4, 8, or 12 weeks in length with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) being completed after the fourth week. Participants will receive one-on-one counseling, group counseling, and fellowship meetings (both in-house and in the community)
Following their successful completion, each participant will receive a Completion Certificate, will have access to our Lifetime Aftercare Program, and receive membership in the iRecover Alumni Group.
Visitors
After detox and week one, participants can enjoy family visiting days at our centers. Family members are welcome to come and visit their loved ones on Sunday afternoons from noon to 5pm. Visitation takes place in common areas and family will not be allowed in participant’s rooms.
Family members are usually also invited to attend an open meeting held from 5pm-6pm to see what it is all about. It is also a valuable opportunity to take the steps to regain lost trust.
Words of Encouragement Line
Family members and friends can call our Words of Encouragement Line to leave a messge for their loved one that is attending our program. The line will accept voicemails 24/7.

“I still use what I learned from iRecover Alberta everyday. That, for me, started with the willingness to be responsible for my disease. From there I was able to change and I now have a great relationship with my husband and kids.”
“I attended the Serenity Ranch in Tees Alberta in July-August, 2011 I very much gained the necessary tools to use when I finished there. I still use them today. I enjoyed the new circle of friends and staff. I loved to work out in the gym, food was amazing. I highly recommend this centre as it is out of nowhere and got you grounded. Wish I could visit there as a visitor or helper as I am a very much loving sobriety”
“Celebrating one year sober today!! I was addicted to pain medication for over a decade and couldn’t see any other way to live until I came to iRecover treatment centre I was taught a new way of life.
Thank you iRecover!”
